# SharePoint Storage Warning

> Use this baseline to monitor the storage usage of selected SharePoint sites.

Use this baseline to monitor the storage usage of selected SharePoint sites. Specify a usage threshold (as a percentage of quota) and the baseline will alert when a site exceeds that threshold. Configure the site list, quota, and threshold values per tenant to ensure you identify capacity risks before they become business-impacting.

[Adding a baseline](https://docs.octiga.io/baselines/adding-a-baseline/) — Add, configure or remove a single baseline on a tenant, a user or a group, without deploying a whole scheme.

## Configure it

This baseline watches SharePoint site storage rather than a single setting. It applies to the
whole tenant.

1. **Add the baseline to the tenant** ([Adding a baseline](https://docs.octiga.io/baselines/adding-a-baseline/)), or deploy it to many
tenants at once as part of a scheme ([Deploying a scheme](https://docs.octiga.io/baselines/deploying-a-scheme/)).
2. Set the **Storage warning threshold** to `90`: the percentage of a site's storage quota
Octiga lets it reach before this baseline deviates. 90 is the default; you can give
individual sites their own threshold, or leave specific sites out of monitoring.
3. Choose the sites you want watched. A site with no threshold of its own uses the default from
   step 2.
4. Save. This baseline has no **Auto-remediation** switch: SharePoint and OneDrive storage is
capacity your organisation buys through its Microsoft licensing, not a setting Octiga can
write back. To clear a deviation, free up space on the site or buy more storage.

## Check it worked

**Passing** means every site this baseline watches is at or below its threshold. See the live
figure for a site in the SharePoint admin centre, under **Active sites**, on the site's own
storage bar. When a watched site crosses its threshold, the baseline shows **Deviated** and
raises an alert. Users see nothing from Octiga, though a site that's full may start blocking
uploads and showing its own low-storage messages in Microsoft 365.
